Carer's Cafe
Carer's Cafe is funded through Hunter New England Health. This grant gives us the opportunity to put on morning tea for our members to come and have a cupper on us. This gives you the chance to come and talk to people who are in similar situations to you, and share the knowledge and experiences that we have all gained along the way. We have tried to have the morning teas on different days and in different areas. So please try to come along and exchange ideas and information with us. The next morning teas are as follows. Hope to see you there.
- Michael's Patisserie
- 7 September 2009 at Green Hills
- Cafe Del
- 20 October 2009 at 134 Darby St Newcastle
turn up at 10am and look out for a friendly face!
Our coffee meetings are low key get togethers for all family members including grandparents and extended family. They are run by a Families Supporting Families Committee member. We try to find cafés around the area that are wheelchair and child friendly as many families have sibs or kids with them.
It's a good way to find out more about FSF and tap into the great wealth of knowledge we have on local disability resources. This style of meeting also suits some parents/carers who don't like big groups and who can only get out to very local events. We try to move the meetings around the Hunter area. No booking is necessary just drop in.
